If you live in the area, we need caring volunteers to feed, groom & walk horses, do barn chores, and more. Experienced equestrians can help us exercise and train. If you are remotely located, we can always use marketing, social media and administrative help.
General monetary donations, either recurring or one-time, are much appreciated. Donations of gently-used tack and equipment are also welcome. Let us know if there’s a particular horse you’d like to help, or an item, such as a fly mask, blanket, or sack of grain, you’d like to cover. You can make easy, secure online donations here:
We are a registered charity in the AmazonSmile program. By shopping at AmazonSmile and designating us as your chosen charity, Amazon will donate a portion of each purchase to Pleasant Valley Horse Foundation. Go to AmazonSmile now and help PVHF!
A great way to make a real impact in a horse’s life is to sponsor them. You can sponsor a horse per month or per year, or endow the retirement of one of our permanent residents.
Our rehoming goal is to find permanent homes that work for both the horse and the adopter. If you are a horse lover with room in your life for a horse in need, we will find the right match for you. We also sometimes have need for temporary foster homes.
If you are a professional trainer, amateur owner, or otherwise involved with the equestrian world, we want you to become part of our network of horse lovers who will help us connect humans with horses. Through our bulletins, website, social media, and word of mouth, we spread the word about horses in need of homes, and homes in need of horses.
We have an internship program for qualified participants. You can commute or live on the property and engage in all aspects of our work. For experienced amateurs and aspiring professionals, this is a unique & valuable opportunity to build your horse skills and your non-profit managerial expertise. Feel good about making a difference in horses’ lives, while working on beautiful ranch in the California gold country!
