Ever since he was a child, Matt has cared deeply about animals. After many years as a business executive, Matt turned his passion for horses into a career. As a professional trainer, Matt frequently encountered horses with uncertain futures or in need of homes, which inspired him to start PVHF.
In addition to his duties as Executive Director, Matt oversees the evaluation, training and rehabilitation of horses at PVHF. Combining a deep understanding of equine behavior with a knack for seeing the world from the horse’s eyes, Matt’s assertive yet gentle training method allows him to connect with each horse and give it exactly what it needs to become a willing, eager, responsive partner for a human.
His devotion and concern for the horses that come his way inspire him to find a ‘pleasant valley’ for each of them.
